The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja has declared that many people erroneously believe that the Olubadan throne is for glamor, insisting that the Olubadan throne is about service to humanity.

Oba Ladoja made the declaration while speaking on Sunday, when he received the 2023 presidential candidate of Labor Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.

The former governor while addressing the gathering, enjoined Mogajis (family heads) to go back to their ancestral compounds in order to mentor and assist younger generations.

Oba Ladoja noted that he is leading by example by renovating his family compound in Isale Osi in Ibadan South West LGA, adding that he sees his appointment as Olubadan of Ibadanland as another opportunity to serve humanity.

Ladoja said, “I see my appointment as the Olubadan as another opportunity to serve humanity.”

“Many people erroneously believe that the throne is for glamor. The time of glamor is gone. In the contemporary period, it is about service. What do you have on the table for the people in society? People talk of Imperial Majesty, where is the empire?

“Even the empire where the sun never set, where is it today? It is about service to humanity. This is why I have told our Mogajis (family heads) to go back to their ancestral homes to mentor generations of young elements, that they can become whatever God wants them to be even from that environment.

“I am leading by example by renovating my family compound at Isale Osi in Ibadan South West local government area and I intend to choose days that I will be staying there even as Olubadan.”
