Makinde Appoints Akinwole as New Chief of Staff, Names Adedayo Due Process DG

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff, following the resignation of Segun Ogunwuyi from the position.

The governor also approved the appointment of Mrs Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the Oyo State Due Process Office.

The appointments were announced in separate letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde Adetunji, and take immediate effect.

Akinwole, a grassroots politician, previously served as chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission. His appointment places him in charge of coordinating the governor’s office and supporting the administration’s day-to-day executive responsibilities.

Adedayo, who currently serves as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, will retain her existing portfolio alongside her new responsibilities as head of the Due Process Office.

The Due Process Office plays a role in ensuring compliance with established procedures in government transactions and procurement.

In announcing the appointments, the governor congratulated the new appointees and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with loyalty, commitment and dedication to the service of Oyo State.

The changes follow Ogunwuyi’s resignation as Chief of Staff on Monday, October 12, 2026. In his resignation letter, he expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve the state and said he remained proud of the administration’s work.

The latest appointments mark a change in two key positions within the Makinde administration as the Oyo State Government continues its executive operations.
