The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has expressed confidence that the people of Ibarapaland will massively support Governor Seyi Abiodun Makinde in the 2027 election, citing the administration’s development projects across the zone.
Ogundoyin spoke during the grand finale of activities marking the first anniversary of the coronation of the Eleruwa of Eruwa, His Royal Majesty Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola, Ajobo Olurin I, held in Eruwa.
The event also featured the installation of Governor Makinde and his wife, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, as the Aare Asoludero and Yeye Aare Asoludero of Ibarapaland respectively.

The Speaker congratulated the Governor and his wife on the traditional honours, describing the titles as a well-deserved recognition of their contributions to the development of Oyo State and the progress of Ibarapaland.
Ogundoyin particularly commended Makinde for the ongoing inner road projects in Ibarapa East Local Government, especially in Eruwa, saying the projects were already making visible differences in communities across the area.
“Your Excellency, permit me to particularly appreciate you for the inner road projects in Ibarapa East, especially here in Eruwa. These projects are making a visible difference in our communities and demonstrating that the development of our rural and semi-urban communities remains a priority of your administration,” the Speaker said.
He also appreciated the Governor for his assurance that similar inner road projects would be extended to Lanlate.
According to Ogundoyin, the commitment had renewed residents’ confidence that communities across Ibarapaland would be included in the administration’s development agenda.
The Speaker further highlighted the ongoing Ido-Eruwa road project, describing it as a major infrastructure intervention that would improve connectivity between Ibarapaland and the wider Oyo State economy.
He said the various infrastructure projects being executed by the Makinde administration across the state demonstrated its commitment to improving connectivity and extending development beyond major urban centres.
Ogundoyin said the people of Ibarapaland had not only seen the projects but were also experiencing their impact, adding that the development strides would influence their political decision in 2027.

“Your Excellency, the people of Ibarapaland see these projects, they feel their impact, and they appreciate the fact that development is reaching their communities. As we look ahead to 2027, I have no doubt that Ibarapaland will reciprocate this commitment.
“The people of Ibarapaland, having witnessed the development taking place under your leadership, will massively demonstrate their appreciation and support at the polls,” he said.
The Speaker also commended Oba Adegbola and the entire Ibarapa Traditional Council for conferring the traditional titles on the Governor and his wife, as well as for their continued commitment to peace, unity and development in the region.
He congratulated the Eleruwa and the people of Eruwa on the renovation and expansion of the Eleruwa Palace, describing the project as a fitting highlight of the anniversary celebration.
Ogundoyin said the palace project also underscored the importance of preserving cultural heritage and strengthening traditional institutions in the development of the region.
