Elected officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have passed a vote of confidence in Governor Seyi Makinde, praising his leadership and commitment to workersโ€™ welfare and development across the state.

The endorsement followed a strategic stakeholdersโ€™ meeting held on Sunday at Jagz Hotel in the Iyaganku area of Ibadan.
The meeting brought together PDP elected representatives across different levels of government alongside key party leaders to review the administrationโ€™s progress and discuss developments within the party.
Reading the communiquรฉ issued after the meeting, the Oyo State PDP Chairman, Dayo Ogungbenro, said stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening internal unity and sustaining the partyโ€™s success in the state.
Participants commended the governor for the prudent management of the stateโ€™s resources and his administrationโ€™s emphasis on transparency and accountability.
They also applauded the government for prioritising the welfare of workers and pensioners through the consistent payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities, noting that more than โ‚ฆ36 billion in outstanding gratuities inherited from previous administrations had been cleared.
Stakeholders further welcomed the governorโ€™s assurance that all gratuities accruing during his tenure would be fully settled before the end of his administration.
The meeting also highlighted major infrastructure projects being undertaken by the government, including the Ibadan Circular Road project and the upgrade of the Ladoke Akintola Airport to international standard, which they said would stimulate investment and economic growth in the state.
While discussing internal issues affecting some party zones and local government areas, the stakeholders assured members that steps would be taken to address the challenges and maintain harmony within the party.
They reaffirmed the unity and stability of the PDP in Oyo State and urged members to place the partyโ€™s collective interest above individual ambitions.
As part of preparations for the 2027 general elections, stakeholders resolved to remain united and work together to secure continued success for the PDP in the state.
The meeting was attended by several members of the House of Representatives including Adedeji Stanley Olajide, Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, Oyesina Najimdeen Oyedeji and Sunday Makanjuola, as well as Folajimi Oyekunle of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, led PDP lawmakers to the meeting, alongside members of the partyโ€™s State Executive, State Working Committee, local government executives and chairmen from the 33 local government areas.
Stakeholders ended the meeting with a renewed pledge to uphold party unity, discipline and loyalty while supporting the Makinde administration in delivering more dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo State.
