โThe Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammed Fadeyi, has called for the continuous exhibition of Ramadan teachings even after the fasting period.
โThe Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde, and Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaja Fausat Joke Sanni, also joined the call.

โThey made the call during the annual Ramadan Lecture organized by the Oyo State House of Assembly Muslim Community, held at the Western Hall, Parliament Buildings, on Wednesday. The lecture was tagged “Justice, Equity and Protection of Human Dignity in Islam.”โ
โHon. Fadeyi, in his opening remarks, said the beauty of Ramadan for Muslim faithful is that it provides an opportunity to listen to lectures concentrating on the significance of Islam as a religion.
โThe Deputy Speaker, who is also the Chairman of the Oyo State House of Assembly Muslim Community, urged that those teachings should serve as a guide in daily activities.
โHe disclosed that Islam is a practical religion, emphasizing that the teachings should not be limited to the holy month of Ramadan, but rather practiced throughout the year.
โProf. Babatunde said Ramadan positions the Muslim ummah closer to Allah, adding that such closeness should not be limited to Ramadan alone.
โHe called for the continued exhibition of Ramadan doctrines and principles, admonishing strict observance of all the pillars of Islam, including solat and zakat.
โChief Imam Alhaji Mudashir Atanda Bada, in his lecture, called for respect for human dignity by rulers and subjects, saying most Muslim ummah have digressed from the way of Allah.
โHe advised Oyo State House of Assembly staff to seek more academic knowledge and make use of every opportunity to add value to their existence.
โImam Bada identified humility, integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and fear of God as traits a good leader must possess to uphold justice and equity.
โThe lecture was highlighted by the presentation of cash gifts to four retired members and recitation from the Holy Quran.
โThe lecture was attended by some House of Assembly members including Hon. Dahud Olalere, Hon. Rasaq Mabaje, Hon. Rilwan Saminu, Commissioner from the Oyo House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Hon. Adekunle Alabanla and Clerk of House, Mrs Adenike Taiwo Muraina-Akinola.
