𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧: 𝐎𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐧, 𝐎𝐛𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐣𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐲𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞

The Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas, Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has called on eligible indigenes of Oyo State to take advantage of the ongoing police constable recruitment exercise to join the force.

According to a statement released by the Media aide to the Olubadan, Chief Adeola Oloko, the monarch made the call while receiving a delegation from the Police Service Commission, led by the Chairman, All Police matters and Representative of the South West in the Commission, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tunde Lakanu, Rtd, in Ibadan, on Tuesday.

Oba Ladoja stressed that the role of the police in maintaining law and order remains critical, noting that security is a shared responsibility. He pledged to mobilise traditional rulers across the state, including members of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, to sensitise residents and encourage participation in the exercise.

Earlier, DIG Lakanu disclosed that 50,000 police constables are currently being recruited nationwide, but expressed concern over low participation from the South-West. He appealed to traditional institutions and the media to help drive awareness, adding that increased local participation would strengthen community policing efforts.

The members of the Olubadan Advisory Council present at the occasion are Otun Balogun,Oba Kola Adegbola,Osi Olubadan,Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, Asipa Olubadan,Oba Hamidu Ajibade,Ekerin Olubadan,Oba Adebayo Akande.Are Ago Balogun, Rear Admiral Adetokunbo Akintola rtd and Ajiroba,Prof Soji Adejumo were also present,with top palace staff.
