Kinsman Studios has held the premiere of its debut feature film, The Perfect Spec, ahead of its scheduled cinema release on Friday, November 6, 2026.
The premiere, which took place on Sunday, November 1, brought together members of the cast and crew, media personalities, filmmakers, industry professionals and other invited guests.
Directed by Michelle Bello, The Perfect Spec is a faith-based romantic comedy that explores love, relationships, faith and the expectations surrounding marriage.
The film follows Oye, a 32-year-old overachiever and self-described “Jesus Baby”, whose plans for finding a life partner take unexpected turns as she navigates romantic possibilities and seeks to understand God’s direction for her love life.
A major feature of the premiere was an interactive discussion with members of the cast, during which conversations centred on trusting God’s timing, navigating seasons of waiting, faith in everyday relationships and the importance of placing God at the centre of personal decisions.
Speaking about the production, Bello said the film was designed to present a relatable story about the realities of modern relationships while encouraging audiences to reflect on their expectations and the uncertainties that accompany love.
One of the film’s writers and producers, Ololade Okedare, said the story was inspired by personal experiences and those of people around her. She explained that the production uses humour to explore the challenges of discerning God’s direction in matters of the heart.
Also speaking, co-writer and producer Ayobola Eniola expressed confidence that the film’s message would connect with audiences, while appreciating the brands and partners who supported the production and its premiere.
The film features Bamike Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bam Bam, Vine Olugu and Samuel “Limoblaze” Onwubiko in lead roles. Other cast members include Segilola Ogidan, Seun Ajayi, Nonso Odogwu, Vera Ephraim, Shamz Garuba, Ifeanyi Kalu, Tolu Odewumi, Gbemi Akinlade and Fiyinfoluwa C.P. Okedare.
The Perfect Spec was written and produced by Ololade Okedare and Ayobola Eniola, with Gbolahan Gafar also serving as producer. Its executive producers are Ajoke Silva, Soji Jacobs, Tochukwu MACFOY and Ewoma Luther-Abegunde.
The film is scheduled to open in Nigerian cinemas on Friday, November 6, 2026.
