NRS Warns Nigerians Against Fake FIRS Recruitment Advert

The Nigeria Revenue Service has warned Nigerians against a fake recruitment notice circulating online in the name of the former Federal Inland Revenue Service.

The warning was contained in a public notice issued by the NRS on Monday in response to a recruitment advert titled “Federal Inland Revenue Service – FIRS Job Vacancy – Replacement.”

According to the Service, the fake notice is being circulated through social media and other platforms and directs prospective applicants to submit their details through the email address recruit@replacementnhrmt.org.

The NRS said the recruitment notice did not originate from the agency and should be treated as fraudulent.

It also reminded Nigerians that the Federal Inland Revenue Service has been succeeded by the Nigeria Revenue Service, warning members of the public to be cautious of any recruitment announcement purportedly issued in the name of FIRS.

The Service stressed that it has neither authorised nor commenced the recruitment exercise referenced in the circulating notice.

It further stated that no individual, agent, consultant or third party had been appointed or authorised to conduct recruitment on its behalf.

The NRS advised Nigerians to disregard the fake advert and exercise caution when responding to recruitment messages, emails or links that request personal information.

The agency said any genuine recruitment exercise by the Nigeria Revenue Service would be officially announced through its website and other authorised communication channels.

It urged members of the public to independently verify recruitment information through these official channels before taking any action.
