Breaking: Makinde to Present Oyo 2027 Budget to Assembly November 10

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, will present the state’s 2027 Appropriation Bill to the Oyo State House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 10, 2026.

The proposed presentation date was communicated in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Adebo Ogundoyin, and read to lawmakers during plenary.

In the letter, Makinde said the presentation would be in compliance with Section 121(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, which provides for the submission of the state’s annual appropriation bill to the legislature.

The governor described the proposed budget as particularly significant, noting that it would be the final annual budget of his administration, which is expected to conclude its second term in 2027.

According to him, the 2027 fiscal proposal presents an opportunity to consolidate the gains of his administration and sustain the development initiatives undertaken since he assumed office in 2019.

Makinde also described the budget as an opportunity to reinforce his administration’s legacy of progress and prosperity.

He requested the Speaker and members of the Assembly to schedule the presentation for 11:00 a.m. on November 10, expressing his readiness to address the lawmakers.

The presentation will mark the beginning of the legislative process for the state’s 2027 budget, which will outline the government’s proposed spending priorities, capital projects and recurrent expenditure for the coming fiscal year.

The 2027 Appropriation Bill will be the final budget proposal of the Makinde administration, which is due to complete its second and final term in 2027.
