United States President Donald Trump has renewed his threat of further military strikes against Iran, warning that Washington may eventually have to take stronger action against Tehran.
Trump made the remarks on Sunday while addressing supporters at a campaign rally in Iowa ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
The US president suggested that he had so far refrained from launching additional military action to avoid further casualties, adding that Washington might eventually have to “give them the hammer”.
He also indicated that there were still additional targets the United States needed to deal with.
In response, Iran warned that any fresh confrontation with the United States could last longer than the previous round of fighting.
Iranian army spokesman, Mohammad Akraminia, said Tehran would not allow Washington to determine the timing or conditions for ending a possible future conflict.
According to Iranian state television, Akraminia warned that a potential war could extend beyond the duration of the previous confrontation, insisting that the American president would not dictate how it ends.
