Aston Villa have completed the signing of Senegal international Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reportedly worth £47 million.
The Premier League club announced the transfer on Tuesday, with the 18-year-old winger joining Unai Emery’s side on a permanent deal.
Mbaye arrives at Villa Park after an impressive season with PSG, making 31 appearances across all competitions as the French giants won both the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1 title.
The France-born winger has also established himself on the international stage with Senegal. He featured four times for the country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and scored against France, becoming the youngest African player to score in the men’s World Cup.
Mbaye made his PSG debut at the age of 16 and has since earned 15 caps for Senegal.
Confirming the transfer, Aston Villa described Mbaye as a “bright and exciting young prospect” who joins the club after representing Senegal at the World Cup.
The signing is part of a major rebuilding exercise at Villa following a busy summer transfer window.
Villa have seen several established players leave the club, including Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins, Lucas Digne, Emiliano Martinez and Ezri Konsa.
Emery has responded by bringing in a number of new players, including Alejandro Garnacho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Johan Manzambi, Zion Suzuki, Joao Gomes, Leon Goretzka, Matteo Ruggeri and Nicolas Jackson.
Mbaye’s arrival adds another young attacking option to Emery’s squad as Aston Villa look to build on their recent success.
The club ended last season by winning the Europa League, ending a 30-year wait for a major trophy.
With Mbaye now joining the squad, Villa will hope the highly rated Senegalese winger can make an immediate impact as the club targets further success in domestic and European football.
